Shopping In Singapore: Air Force 1s By G-Dragon, Pierre Hardy's 20th Anniversary Collection & More
It doesn’t take long for K-Pop star G-Dragon to work on something new now that his military service is done and dusted. For his upcoming collaboration with Nike, the star got to show off his idiosyncratic sense of style on the iconic Air Force 1 sneakers. The Air Force 1 Para-Noise kicks ($279), which will launch at Dover Street Market Singapore on Nov 23, feature a black painted overlay on the uppers which is meant to wear off over time to reveal an artwork the singer had created. Other quirky touches include a daisy embroidery on the tongue as well as detachable pins on the upper eyelets.
You know Diane von Furstenberg for its repertoire of wrap dresses. Its latest capsule collection with vegan fashion brand Apparis also proves that it can be a label for fun fur designs – that are eco-friendly too. The collection which drops in stores in the middle of this month melds Apparis’s plush faux fur creations with DVF’s bold Disco era-inspired prints and gem-hued colours. Think a bright citrine yellow on a mink lookalike jacket or a psychedelic print on a jacket that could pass off as a fabulous vintage fox fur jacket.
NEW KITS ON THE BLOCK
Before athleisure became a thing, the coolest fashion kids were dressed in sportswear from Tommy Jeans Sport Tech Denim which was popular with the youths for mashing up sportswear fabric with denim pieces. Now, the American label is rehashing designs from that 1997 collection for a 15-piece strong unisex collection. Among the pieces in the outing is a jacket with the brand’s signature flag logo which has been updated with nylon and accessories like beanies and crossbody bags in archival colours like turquoise, blue and purple.
French footwear designer is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his eponymous label by giving his fans who love his architectural designs the best treat: a capsule collection of some of his most iconic designs from the archives with On Pedder. The collection, which is exclusive to Asia, includes the Blade stiletto pumps from Hardy’s first collection in 1999 and more recent designs like the Lilyrama sneakers from 2015 which referenced the work of artist duo Gilbert & George. Also available are current Fall/Winter 2019 pieces as well as a preview and pre-order of Hardy’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2020 collection which riffs on the themes of neo-glamour and futurism.
