Anything BTS touches turns into the proverbial gold. Cue the mania for their McDonald’s meal and how their May hit Butter has been on the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for six straight weeks.
So we expect the same kind of buzz surrounding the K-pop band’s latest appearance in Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2021 Spin-Off menswear collection that was shown via film on July 7 and available in stores from July 9. (Coincidentally, the group is dropping their new ear candy Permission to Dance on the same day.)

In particular, we’re betting that the BTS Army and fashion followers alike will be zooming in on the desirable bags that the seven-member group flaunted in the film.
Ahead, we go in for a closer look.
Jimin carries a tote from the new metallic LV Mirror Mirror line which reflect Virgil Abloh’s design trope for hyper-realism art which we’ve seen being played to maximum effect in the Spring/Summer 2019 and Fall/Winter 2020 collections previously.
The line is also Abloh’s homage to the popular Mirror Monogram collection that Marc Jacobs designed for the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2006 collection,

The youngest member of the group is also reportedly the most popular one in the bunch. According to news reports, the 23-year-old is the most-searched K-pop star on YouTube for the first-half of 2021 and is attributed to selling out merchandise he’s been seen carrying or wearing. Naturally, we suspect this Steamer tote from the LV Seal Giant line will be a hit with fans.
Star power aside, though, the bag’s got a pretty romantic backstory: the debossed monogram pattern is inspired by seal waxes that were used to close envelopes in the past and has been blown up in terms of size for Fall/Winter 2021. The orange pin closure gives the all-black design just the right amount of pop.

The leader of the group and a prolific songwriter in his own right (he has over 170 song credits under his belt), RM carries a special briefcase design from the LV Mirror Mirror line. Because, you know, #Boss.
The case is a made-to-order design that’s based on a heritage Cotteville travel case trunk. Abloh has given it some cool updates with its reflective leather construction and his signature transparent chain ornament which can be detached and worn around the wrist as a bracelet.

This aspiring actor is featured with not one, but two bags, for his turn in Louis Vuitton’s menswear film.
The first is a playful design from the Everyday LV range which takes its design cues from items used in our daily lives and daily rituals. In this case, V is carrying a monogrammed-covered crossbody bag that is shaped like a coffee cup. The bag can easily fit your daily essentials like phone, keys, earphones, cash and cards.
He’s also seen with the Ambassadeur satchel from the LV Seal Giant series. The bag is a smaller iteration of an archival design and boasts an S lock detail which takes inspiration from the unbreakable trunk lock developed by Georges Vuitton in 1886.

Both Suga (left) and Jin are carrying the so-called Litter Bag from the Everyday LV family, which contrary to its name, is inspired by grocery bags.
Suga swaps the original leather strap for a wider and dramatic one (it is sold separately). The slogan on the strap reads ‘The same place at the same time’ and is based on the work of Lawrence Weiner. The conceptual artist is renowned for using typography in his work and had created aphorisms tied to the collection’s themes.
