Here’s a quick recap: Burberry’s creative reigns recently changed hands, going from long-time chief creative officer Christopher Bailey to Riccardo Tisci, previously from Givenchy. Tisci, leading up to his debut collection tonight, had made a point of teasing the world with what’s to come.
Asides from a facelift to the Brit brand’s monogram — of which it was unapologetically plastered all over cities London, Hong Kong and Shanghai leading up to the Spring/Summer 2019 runway show — a new retail model was promised. And now, post-show, the cogs of Tisci’s new Burberry is officially in motion, built to cater to the shopping enthusiast more than ever.
Instead of selling their collections in the traditional seasonal manner, Burberry, like Moncler Genius, is to drop multiple capsules moving forward, starting with the B series available now. To make things even more exciting, there’s a 24-hour timer attached to the offering — and the clock’s already ticking.
