Coach Just Opened A Vintage Store Of Our Dreams In Chinatown

The concept pop-up store will run from August 21 to September 12.

A new vintage store dedicated to leather goods has popped up in the heart of Chinatown and American fashion house Coach has something to do with it.

From August 21 to September 12, the brand will be enticing fans of vintage wares with a highly Instagrammable retail concept called Tomorrow’s Vintage situated on the first storey of a conservation shophouse at 1 Teck Lim Road which is off Keong Saik Road.

Coach has taken over the ground floor of a conservation shophouse in Chinatown for its Tomorrow’s Vintage retail pop-up.

If you’re having trouble finding it, here’s our tip: look out for a cheery yellow facade and a yellow bicycle parked outside the entrance. Ahead, we list down what else you need to know about this retail haven.

Coach’s Tomorrow’s Vintage concept store is open from noon to 9pm daily and closed on Mondays.

The concept store is more than just another retail outpost for Coach, you also get an immersive look at the brand’s rich history. Peppered throughout the space are vignettes of the brand’s archives – cue a vintage television showcases films of Coach’s leather restoration specialist Debi the Restorer and displays of vintage bags (pictured) designed by the legendary American designer Bonnie Cashin like the Ergo and the Cashin models.

If you’re the kind who likes to customise your bags and SLGs, then make a beeline for the Tomorrow’s Vintage store. A craftsman who has been personally trained by Coach’s craftsman in New York City will be stationed at the store to offer services such as monogramming and even cleaning.

Singapore artist/illustrator Tiffany Tan a.k.a. Tiffany Lovage (pictured) who is best known for her intricated anatomical and botanical drawings and contemporary embroidery artist Zoey Wang of Naked Works fame will be on-site to receive personalisation requests too.

Tan will be at the store on August 21 to August 22 and on September 3 to September 5. Meanwhile, Wang will be present on August 27 to August 29 and on September 10 to September 12.

To give the concept store an authentic NYC flavour, Coach teamed up with independent record label Big Crown Records. The Brooklyn-based company which is known for reissuing rare vinyl records and producing new releases on vintage equipment has curated a playlist for and a selection of records for display (pictured).

TAKE PART IN A RETRO GAME AND WIN TREATS

Staying true to the vintage theme of the store, Coach is letting visitors take part in the old-school Singapore game of Tikam-Tikam. Each person can pick a random number from the Tikam board for the chance to win a complimentary Coach Create pin or patch. You can also partake in the game on your mobile phone via tomorrowsvintage.coachexperiencesg.com.
