As per its multi-brand counterpart, Dover Street Market, Comme des Garcon also takes part in the process that is tachiagari – or Japanese for ‘beginning’ – an occasional redesigning of the label’s retail spaces that acts as time away until the reintroduction of its newest creations. Comme des Garcon’s storefront at The Hilton Hotel Singapore is the latest to undergo the seasonal overhaul and brings with it its Fall Winter ’19 collection.
Serving as the more pared down, wearable collection alongside Rei Kawakubo’s avant garde Fall Winter ’19 sculptural rubber designs, the ready-to-wear collection experiments with tailored separates. You can expect Comme’s usual flair for distressed detail – curled up ridges that form elegant and intentional motifs, frayed edges, subtle holes and tears and a great deal of black, whites and greys. This collection also debuts two faux fur coats which is a first for the label. Browse some of the collection above.
