Converse fans, this one is for you.
The brand is reissuing its popular collaboration with American luxury streetwear guru Jerry Lorenzo’s diffusion label Fear Of God Essentials which first made its drop in March 2020. The designer is well known for his minimalist aesthetic and collaborations – like the one with Justin Bieber on the merch for the singer’s Purpose Tour – as well as his high-profile fans that include Virgil Abloh and Gucci’s Alessandro Michele. Lorenzo’s limited-edition outing for Converse features the latter’s Chuck 70 high-tops dreamed up in a combination of leather and canvas in either black or white that come with contrasting toecaps. Completing the design are wraparound laces and the Essentials logo stamped on the heel.
Meanwhile, the sustainable Converse Renew Collection, which is known for using a canvas fabric made from recycled plastic bottles, gets a spin-off this month. Called the Tri-panel Renew, this debut comes with two new fun colourways and a new cotton yarn made up of 40 per cent recycled cotton canvas scraps. Take your pick from the Chuck Taylor low-cut sneakers that come in pink, cream and blue, or the high-top Chuck 70 in mustard, orange and purple.
The Converse Tri-panel Renew is currently available at the Dover Street Market Singapore (DSMS) E-shop, and will make their way to the brick-and-mortar stores of Left Foot and Converse come June 15. The Converse x Fear of God Essentials sneakers will drop on the e-shops of DSMS and Limited Edt Online on May 21, and make their way to the physical stores of Pedder on Scotts and Converse Takashimaya S.C. on June 18.
