Bringing out the gothic romance in classic tales such as Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, these accessories and ready-to-wear from Coach’s 1941 Pre-Fall collection practically beg to be acquired.
Following the popular Minnie Mouse collaboration for Spring 2018, Coach creative director Stuart Vevers has partnered with Disney for a second time for a dark and dreamy Pre-Fall collection featuring a twist on classic Disney tales.
Who would’ve thought Disney themes didn’t have to be cutesy and can be for Disney lovin’ grown-ups who are secretly still enthralled by fairytales?
The collection was, after all, “a gothic, romantic fairytale” as Vevers had described during the walk-through of his women’s and men’s pre-fall collections for 2018. He captured this spirit through referencing American rock ‘n’ roll royalty (we’re talking whipstitches, punked-up cowboy boots, and a whole lot of metal eyelets) and a darker side to Disney’s “Snow White” and “Sleeping Beauty”.
Poison apples, dark gloomy silhouette of castles and spooky ghost eye motifs were some of the many charming cartoons that showed up plastered on soft pink military dresses, market totes and the latest Coach handbag, a new modern reiteration of Bonnie Cashin’s classic duffel.
