Daniel Lee of Burberry is currently on a world tour with Burberry Streets, a series of city takeovers that celebrate the art of discovery and exploration in various cultural capitals worldwide. The series began in September during London Fashion Week, then travelled to Seoul, and has now landed in Shanghai, China, where it will run until Dec 31.

Burberry’s Renaissance Man, Daniel Lee (above), initiated the Burberry Streets series to celebrate the art of discovery and exploration in cities worldwide.
The streets of Shanghai are currently home to immersive experiences and emblems that showcase the brand’s signature designs introduced by Lee. Posters of the Fall Winter 2023 campaign adorn bus stops and billboards, and buses running through the city centre are wrapped in the brand’s rose print. Meanwhile, “knight blue” and flags featuring the refreshed Equestrian Knight logo fly on Panyu Road. The strip is known for its trendy boutiques, cafes, and restaurants, as well as its art galleries and cultural institutions, such as the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art and the Shanghai Art Museum.

For Burberry Streets, a special pop-up called Burberry Rose has been installed in the area. It includes the Burberry Rose Petal Maze, which is inspired by the English rose, a motif explored throughout Daniel Lee’s debut runway collection for Fall Winter 2023. Crafted from sculpted shapes such as petals, stems, and leaves, each element of the Burberry Rose Petal Maze showcases the latter. For a taste of British life, Burberry has also opened a makeshift Norman’s, a North London cafe known for its British grub.

North London cafe Norman’s offers quintessential British fare, such as the cheese and onion toastie and rice pudding with jam, to visitors of Burberry Rose.
So if you happen to be in Shanghai for a trip or counting down to 2024, be sure to swing by and experience Burberry Streets for yourself. Ahead, we show some of the celebrity guests and fashion stars who attended the opening of Burberry Streets in Shanghai recently.
