Fall/Winter ’18 is well underway and just like It bags, there are plenty of new sneakers and colourways to add to cart. From the Gucci Flashtrek to Balenciaga’s Track trainers (watch them on feet and in action here), above, our shopping edit to tide you through to the next season and beyond.
For the nature lover:
Gucci’s Flashtrek was one of the most talked about shoes even before its release and, we can see why. Inspired by traditional hiking boots, these sneakers not only brings out the best in the chunky trend, it also provides ample support with the thick rubber soles. Form and function, checked.
For the futuristic sneakerhead:
One of the coolest collaborations when it first hit market, Vetements and Reebok has updated their long-running collaboration with a reflective coating this season. The result? Kicks that will turn heads for sure.
For the environmentally conscious:
Veja focuses on using fair trade materials and was one of the first eco-conscious (yet stylish) sneaker brands to gain traction. Besides, you can’t go wrong with their classic shapes.
For the dare devil:
While the shoe is uber striking colours with the pastiche of hues on it’s midsole, it’s surprisingly easy to style given the neutral upper. We’d style it with a banging party dress — the shinier the better.
For the avid collector:
Balmain sneakers often come in classic shades such as black, white and the occasional beige, which is why this one’s definitely worth copping. In striking pink tempered by its easy-to-wear sock trainer style, it’s one for the collection for sure.
For the classic lady:
We’re that sure you’ve seen Alexander McQueen’s chunky, court-shaped sneakers out and about town. This FW18 release, the Oversized sneakers however, takes it to the next level while still offering up mileage.
For the ‘hypebeast’:
Any self-confessed ‘hypebeast’ will know that one’s choice of socks is just about as important as the shoe itself. With a sheer mesh panel on the side of Fendi’s Fancy sneakers, you’ll be able stunt ’em all.
For the logo lover:
Missed out on Balenciaga’s nondescript Speed Trainers from the previous seasons? Well, they’ve just released an updated version, featuring a foldover at the shoe’s opening, emblazoned with overt branding.
For the one who likes to stand out:
There’s no way people are not going to notice the sick neon green hue on this. Combine that with the unique silhouette of Prada’s Cloudburst and you’ve got a winner.
For the Triple S fan:
Still going strong, Balenciaga has recently released numerous new colourways for this champ and here’s one that’s distinctively different from all the previous drops. Cop to complete your collection.
For the adventure addict:
The Track trainers are as its name suggests, inspired by well, track trainers. Also combining elements from hiking gear, we say take them on your next escapade into the wild. Seriously.
