Since we brought back the celebration of original street style for our March 2021 No-Rules edition, the usually-camera-shy FEMALE team decided to get into the spirit of it themselves.

“When working for the national daily years ago, I had the painful task of staking out clubs and the likes for people to feature in a weekly street style column. Guess you can say that I secretly liked it.”
What were you thinking about when you were getting dressed today?
What are you wearing?
“All Yohji – except the plimsolls, which are from Vans.”
Tell us something interesting about you.
“A recent obsession is Emily Spivack’s book Worn Stories, a compilation of stories by different folks speaking about seemingly ordinary garments that have special meaning for them. It explores the often-complex yet intangible relationship people have with their clothes – an anthropological aspect of this fast-moving industry that deserves more critical coverage.”
What were you thinking about when you were getting dressed today?
“I wanted to feel and look like I’m headed for a slumber party even though I was office-bound. I also wanted another wear out of this parka before it goes into the laundry pile.”
