What: Furla’s best-selling Metropolis collection, which is known for its boxy crossbody and shoulder bag designs and that chunky metal closure introduces three new silhouettes and a fresh colour treatment. This new collection will be first unveiled in China to coincide with the Chinese Valentine’s Day which falls on May 20 in the country (aka 520 Day) before hitting our shores in June.
Why bother: We say it is about time that the Metropolis gets a major reboot. Besides the familiar mini crossbody silhouette, this four-piece outing features the debut of a saddle bag, a vertical sling wallet, and a top handle design – all of them boasting the collection’s distinctive minimalist style. The brand also ups the aesthetic factor by drenching the designs in a tone-on-tone treatment featuring peppy Mondrian-esque and Bauhaus colourways of blue, yellow, white and red that covers each bag entirely, right down to the logo. Dressing options + Modern colours = Winning combination.
