You know the expression, don’t play with your food? Hermes’ latest homeware shuts that down and instead encourages play and fun at the dining table.
Called Hippomobile, the porcelain tea set collection was designed by artist Gianpaolo Pagni who drew inspiration from jockey silks and the world of cartoons, spans items like teapots, dessert plates, cups, a cake platter in fun vibrant hues.
The elongated horse motif is Pagnidrew’s idea of a “limousine horse.”
The childlike element of Hippomobile doesn’t just stop at the quizzical name of the collection. Pagni had also plastered most of the items with the motif of a whimsical “limousine horse”. He said: “I envisioned a horse with an elongated back that could hold several riders.”
If you’re feeling cheeky, you can assemble different parts of the horse to create your own mashed-up equine motif– which also serves as a perfect excuse to get more than one design.
Just a few suggestions as to the various permutations of the “limousine horse” you can create.
The Hermes Hippomobile collection starts from $155 and is already available at Hermes boutiques and on the brand’s website. Ahead, we share a quick peep of 10 of our favourite picks that will spark joy at the table.
