If this is how you remember sneaker label Joshua Sanders, then a little catching up is in order. A couple of years ago, creative director Vittorio Cordella first put the brand on the map with a stable of fuzzy, slip-on sneakers armed with cute motifs — invading the fashion dictionary by way of the street style set. Fast forward to 2018 and a directional overhaul later, the Joshuas of now are a lot more in line with youth culture.
Cue: holographic uppers, chunky soles, neon hues and, a second tie-up with the buzzy Irene Kim. To be specific, it’s a unicorn-inspired collab with Kim’s clothing and accessories brand, Irene Is Good Label. The model’s familiar girls-just-wanna-have-fun attitude manifests in playful, metallic hues on Joshua Sanders’ chunky Zenith sneakers, totalling three colourways of which one features a unicorn tacked onto the laces. The collection is rounded off with hoodies and sweatpants in pink and white.
Kim says of the collaboration, “As streetwear, travel, art, and fashion are huge influences in my daily life, I wanted to incorporate these elements with the Irene Is Good touch.”
Launching in Spring/Summer 2019. Release date to be confirmed.
