It’s Time To Supercharge Your Denim Pieces

Denims aren’t just basics this season.

by Khong Yawen  /   November 3, 2022

In the mood for blue.

If there’s one textile that will always transcend time and trends, it’s denim. What was once the workhorse fabric of cowboys and labourers has made its way to high fashion houses like Dior and Balenciaga – especially in the Fall/Winter 2022 season. Demna sent a double denim ensemble that took baggy jeans to a whole new level down the runway (or should we say, into the storm) at his Winter 2022 show in Paris.

Leave it to Balenciaga to rework denim jeans into a top.

Though the twill-woven fabric is often associated with jeans and jackets, a new generation of denim has emerged. At Diesel’s Fall/Winter 2022 ready-to-wear show, a pair of jeans transformed into a sexy belt-like mini skirt that echoes what Y2K icon Paris Hilton once said about how all mini skirts should be the size of a belt.

Diesel’s creative director Glenn Martins, strengthened Diesel’s notoriety for denim in his Fall/Winter 2022 show that featured distressed denim trench coats and bralettes.

Scroll on for our edit of the quirkiest denim pieces to obsess over.
