News Flash: Japanese Street Fashion Label Wego Is Now In Singapore

Wego will be retailing at Japanese multi-label store Lumine.

by IMRAN JALAL   /   June 22, 2020

If your trip to Tokyo’s Harajuku district means making a pit stop at the Wego store on Takeshita Street, then here’s some good news for you. The Japanese label, known for its youth-inflected designs and street aesthetic, makes its Singapore debut today.

The brand, founded in Osaka in 1994 to cater to students, will be stocked exclusively at multi-label Japanese retailer Lumine at Clarke Quay Central. Singapore is its first regional outpost out of Japan, where there are 160 stores nationwide. Prior to this, Hong Kong was the nearest market where you could shop for its merchandise from the three stores located there.

So what’s in-store? Expect plenty of Gen-Z street staples to complete your ’90s get-up here such as graphic T-shirts, bucket hats, and acid-wash jeans. If you also adore the idiosyncratic Harajuku dressers that were often photographed in the now-defunct Japanese street style rag Fruits, you’d be glad to know that most of those folks were decked out in pieces from Wego. The best bit: prices here range from $6 to $89.
