Enter footwear label Jimmy Choo and the fashion house of Mugler. The two brands have unveiled their first footwear collaboration called Jimmy Choo/Mugler that is built on a passion for unbridled glamour and high octane sex appeal.

The nine styles that Jimmy Choo’s Sandra Choi and Mugler’s Casey Cadwallader designed for the collection were a result of a collaborative process that primarily took place over video calls and Whatsapp.
Jimmy Choo’s creative director and her Mugler counterpart Casey Cadwallader made sure of that by digging through their respective brand’s archives. What they turned up are lean silhouettes that Jimmy Choo was well-known for during the ’90s (something Cadwallader reportedly described as “longer, bitchier”) and the theatrical spirit of Mugler that its late designer Thierry encapsulated during that same era of fashion.

“There’s an inherent connection there between the language of Mugler and the language of Jimmy Choo – our roots in the 1990s, the resonance those have today with a younger generation, but the urge to update, to re-engineer and not just revive,” said Choi in a press statement.

The peekaboo details on the shoes are an ode to Cadwallader’s Spiral and Illusion bodysuits at Mugler.
Among the nine styles that the partnership have birthed include plenty of sock boots designs that tantalises with its nod to hosiery and shoes with peekaboo cutouts that were inspired by Cadwallader’s Spiral and Illusion bodysuits at his brand.
And while these shoes are not sold in Singapore, they are now available from www.jimmychoo.com which ships here. Ahead, a look at some of the designs.
