Expertly curated, beautiful, luxury label endorsed fashion books have undoubtedly been all the rage the past few years. If the exclusivity – and highly coveted pieces – of Spanish luxury house Loewe doesn’t already up the grandeur, the fact that their collections are documented in a hand-numbered publication year after year certainly will.
Helmed by British designer Jonathan Anderson, the house has documented every collection in a hard-back, collectible book since 2014. The latest (#26) is of Loewe’s Fall Winter ’19 women’s collection and is photographed by Japanese artist Fumiko Imano who has been a frequent artistic collaborator of the brand. Chinese supermodel Fei Fei Sun models the collection and is occasionally joined by Imano herself, who often includes her alter egos in her photographs.
Set against the same backdrop as Loewe’s Fall Winter ’19 show, Fei Fei Sun is shot against the minimalist, white and marbled setting of the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. She’s accompanied by a series of rare ikebana flowers, which expands on fashion’s recent affinity for peace and serenity – a considerable change from Loewe’s previous collection books.
