Last season, we saw models-of-the-moment Anna Ewers and Rebecca Leigh Longendyke decked out in vintage-inspired travel wear in scenic Scotland. The next stop on Mango’s 2020 travel itinerary: Mexico. The Spanish brand’s Spring/Summer iteration of its ‘Shared Moments’ campaign takes Ewers and Longendyke – as well as new faces Vittoria Ceretti, Kit Butler and Hamid Onifade – to the sunny cities of Valladolid and Merida.
And while ‘Shared Moments’ continues to carry forward its core message of community and togetherness, Mango is amping things up a notch. Lensed by British fashion photographer Glen Luchford, the campaign not only boasts a fully sustainable womenswear selection; it has also taken cues from the brand’s Instagram followers.
With a single tap (thanks insta-stories), over 11 million followers were able to help direct the campaign – from how the models were styled to which items from the ’70s-inspired eco-friendly collection would end up in stores. The final line-up? A collection – now available in all Mango stores nationwide – custom-made for a chic holiday, featuring some of Spring/Summer 2020’s biggest trends. Case in point: lots of florals, ruffles, flared denim, basket bags and statement beaded necklaces.
One can also expect laidback, breezy separates perfect for long summer strolls. From sleek, flowing maxi-dresses and wide-cut crocheted pants to button-down shirts and sleeveless vests, the collection exudes equal-parts style and ease. The edit proves easy to shop as well. All the items from the women’s line are produced from entirely sustainable fabrics such as cotton, recycled polyester and cellulose fibres – so conscious shoppers can get in on the action too.
And for those just clocking onto Mango’s sustainability efforts, here’s what you can expect in the next five years: 100% sustainable cotton, a 50% increase in recycled polyester as well as traceability of the materials used across all of the brand’s collections.
