Let’s face it: Ever since Meghan Markle made headlines as the future Mrs. Prince Harry, there have been a few faux pas she has made when it comes to observing royal protocol.
From her so-called “curtsey catastrophe” last December to her bias for tousled hair (or as the royal household would deem messy), it’s no surprise that the media is having a field day documenting her sartorial missteps. Some sites have come up with a list of times “Meghan Markle broke a rule”.

The latest so-called misstep is how Markle continues to ignore the Queen’s memo about how members of the British royal family are required to don stockings for public appearances as a form of formality. At the recent appearance at the reception for the Invictus Games in London wearing a green Self-Portrait dress sans any hosiery. Shocker.
It’s important to know that this is not the first time Markle has been spotted in public without stockings. Perhaps she hates looking too prim, retro and mumsy in them? Perhaps she hates how polyamide and nylon mesh feel against her calves. No one knows for sure.

Truth is, hosiery is S/S ’18’s sleeper trend and a fashion-forward garment which we spotted on models walking the Fendi, Gucci, Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang shows for S/S ’18 . The fact the stockings and pantyhose go with something as quirky as Fendi’s checked getup to something as racy and scandalous as Helmut Lang’s and Alexander Wang’s slip dresses show that you don’t necessarily have to look frumpy or tacky in hosiery.
Question is, will Markle get the memo?
