The sister label to Prada is unabashedly girly. So when male models walked down its Fall Winter 2022 runway dressed in the likes of shrunken knits, satiny undies (complete with exposed Miu Miu-logoed waistbands) and more of those micro-short skirts from last season that spawned a million memes, the Internet naturally went wild.
To be clear, it does not mark the return of Miu Miu menswear – a separate, dedicated line that shuttered in 2008. Instead, it was creative director Miuccia Prada responding to gender fluidity with a stunningly simple concept: If you make incredible clothes, everybody will want to wear them.
