Molly Goddard’s physical return to London Fashion Week this Fall 2022 season was markedly triumphant, her models looking like splashes of colour against the minimalism of an elevated runway and rows on rows of white benches.
Inspired by the vintage goldmines that are the Portobello and Camden markets in London, this collection veered away from Goddard’s typically more youthful and innocent flair towards an edgier feel – think her signature tulle skirts layered beneath oversized sweaters and models wearing uglycore platforms instead of pumps.
“The overall look is eclectic, here’s-what-I-found-down-the-market,” Goddard said in her show notes.
Ahead, some of our notes from the runway.
