For Chinese New Year and the year of the rat, the French-Italian ski brand Moncler made the playful move of turning the outline of its logo upside down to represent a mouse’s face. This design element is used throughout its capsule collection, which leans on the side of minimal. The pieces – a baseball cap, Letterman jacket, puffer jacket, and t-shirts – are monochromatic, and feature the collection’s graphic motif sparingly.
The spareness of the motif is a rather winning attribute of this capsule collection. It’s ideal for a touch of seasonal fun, and the graphic element of the mouse is given right of place thanks to the simple monochromatic palette. You’ll find it mostly as patch pieces, otherwise as a t-shirt print outlined in fairly understated gold. After all, you’ve gotta have some bling for the festivities and some auspicious good luck, right?
