How Our Female Collective Nadia Rahmat Preps For Her Runway Return For Singapore Fashion Week

Singapore Fashion Week is just around the corner and while many of us have already started planning our outfits and beauty looks, our very own Female Collective member Nadia Rahmat seems to be prepping up for the event in a very different way. Also known as the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring Summer ’15 and events whiz at Kilo Kallang, Camp Kilo and Kilo Lounge, this Singapore It girl will be strutting down the runway at the highly anticipated Ling Wu x Gin Lee show on Thursday, 26 October and we get first dibs on how she preps for the big day.

#1: In her model bag

Nadia Rahmat (NR): “I carry six essentials in my model bag. Firstly, I have my Marc Jacobs wallet to hold my cash and cards. Instead of whiling the hours away, I like to have a book on hand to keep me busy while I’m waiting backstage. I also carry around my favourite sugar bloom lip balm by Fresh as my lips tend to get dry easily. A thermos flask is also one of my must-haves as it’s always important to keep myself hydrated all the time. I usually put water or homemade smoothies in it! Besides my phone, I also bring along my iPad as I keep my portfolio in there in case potential clients want to see my past work. I sometimes use it to attend to urgent work emails as well. Lastly, I always make sure to pack my Body Shop tea tree wipes as, after a show, I prefer removing my makeup immediately to let my skin breathe.”

#2: Her diet

NR: “My diet hasn’t really changed significantly because I always practice eating healthy. Besides my three main meals, I like snacking on dark chocolate with nuts in it. Greek yoghurt with berries is really good too. I also love making smoothies and I will combine different ingredients such as Greek yoghurt, frozen berries and peanut butter. I recently just got into oat milk (it’s so good) and I also love eating granolas and nuts.”

#3: Her workout routine

NR: “I do high-intensity interval training (also known as HITT), which is great for cardio and keeps my stamina up and my mind active. I will then balance it out with yoga as it helps build up my strength and overall well-being. However, I don’t workout every day and I try to stagger it out to let my body have sufficient rest. I try to exercise around three to four times in a week, minimum three times if I’m really strapped for time. But if I’m quite diligent, I’ll do it four times a week.”

NR: “An exfoliant, moisturiser and a face mask are my top three skincare products I use prior to Singapore Fashion Week. After exfoliating and removing dead skin cells, I like using a face mask as it is much more beneficial than a usual moisturiser.”

#5: Her haircare routine

NR: “My hair is pretty dry so I will definitely use a conditioner and an oil-based moisturiser after shampooing. I prefer using oil-based moisturisers as I feel that serums are not as effective. I will apply the moisturiser when my hair is still damp and leave it on for a few hours with my hair wrapped up in my towel.”
