Thinking of giving your wardrobe a revamp? Then you have to check out the new brands at multi-label fashion boutique Society A, which is known for championing emerging labels from Asia’s thriving fashion scene. In addition to its current and very impressive coup of designers, Society A is introducing new brands for the Fall/Winter 2017 season, available in stores now. Below, we highlight the brands to get on your radar.
Despite being one of Malaysia’s leading fashion labels, this is actually the brand’s first-ever Fall/Winter collection. The label has also expanded with three additional lines, including the higher-end Alia Bastamam Atelier line, custom-made Alia Bastamam Bridal collection and the Malaysia-exclusive diffusion label Alia B. The latest collection features a range of outerwear such as anoraks and sharply-tailored coats, perfect for your year-end getaway.
Prices range between $245 – $850.
Taking inspiration from her travels and translating them into unique ready-to-wear pieces, the brand’s Creative Director, Disaya Sorakraikittikul from Thailand, ensures each collection she curates is different from one another. Her most recent Fall/Winter ’17 range draws its influences from paintings of the Dutch Golden Age from the 17th the century (think vibrant hues, rich textures and intricate details), resulting in a collection that’s fresh and luxe with a modern edge.
Prices range between $339 – $1189.
Specialising in handwoven textile, the brand pays ode to its culturally-rich roots by combining traditional fabrics with modern designs to create timeless yet innovative pieces. The Indonesian label aims to make clothes that can be worn daily, transforming classic silhouettes into designs that are feminine yet super edgy and different.
Prices range between $119 – $669.
Besides ready-to-wear pieces, SocietyA has also brought in new accessory brands. One to look out for is this South Korean label known for its high-quality contemporary jewellery, ideal for the chic and sophisticated woman. Each piece is carefully (and completely) handcrafted with extreme care with edgy designs that will appeal to both the modern fashion woman (and man – yes, they’re unisex) and minimalist lovers.
Prices range between $369 – $739.
This South Korean fine jewellery brand was founded by designer Cha Sunyoung, a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London. If you’re wondering what the name actually means, it basically originated from the term ‘plume on a helmet’ as the designs are influenced by armour helmets used in medieval times. It’s Fall/Winter collection, known as “Curve”, draws inspiration from the curvature of the human body to create three-dimensional and structural pieces of wearable art. What else to expect: one-of-a-kind double and triple hoop earrings, exquisite ear cuffs that resemble gilded doodles and sculptural rings that are adorned with coloured gemstones and diamonds.
Prices range between $119 – $469.
Reinterpreting staple bag designs with an element of surprise is what this South Korean brand lives by. With her background in luxury car interior design, the founder, Ji Yu, uses her knowledge of leather and hardware to create pieces that are uber chic and covetable.
