The Balenciaga store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is officially a duplex now.
After weeks of renovation, the store has expanded from being a 158 square metres space to a 401 square metre retail haven stocking the brand’s ready-to-wear collections for men, women and children, as well as its range of footwear, bags, eyewear and objects.
The stark decor is finished with grey columns and aluminium shelves and vitrines, while unfinished surfaces echo the sites of urban demolition and construction and the metropolitan void.
Since we can’t make the trip to visit Versace Home’s Milan flagship store and showroom just yet, why not take a trip and enjoy a similar experience right here in our own backyard? Much to the delight of the Italian brand’s fans, the fashion house has opened its newest boutique at Marina Bay Sands stocking the latest ready-to-wear and accessories.
Conceptualised by French architect Gwenael Nicolas, the 200 square metre store marries his minimalistic touch with Versace’s glamorous style. Think a Medusa sculpture, a metallic gold Barocco V door handle to grip and a sleek grey and white marble flooring depicting Versace’s iconic Greca pattern contrasted against a neutral coloured backdrop.
Spades should be on your must-see list of stores if you want to discover the hottest in streetwear and underground homegrown designers. The Gen Z-run multi-label store stocks 16 brands that include Singapore’s Veblen Supplies, Koterie, Cherub, Wildflower wax co., Mobius Mise and Flipside; Malaysia’s Ghostboy and Notinlist; and China’s Pin Sktbs.
It’s official: La Prairie is opening its first and only standalone luxury boutique here in Singapore. Come August 20, shoppers can expect to visit this one-stop haven where they can find the full suite of products from the Swiss label, enjoy interactive product experiences and indulge in private consultations and facial treatments.
Inspired by La Prairie’s quest for timeless beauty and the brand’s heritage, the flagship store takes visual merchandising references from the school of Land Art – a conceptual approach rooted in nature itself – along with the pure forms and minimal lines seen in the works of contemporary Swiss architects like Peter Zumthor.
You see these influences in the 61 square metre space in the choice of wood and mineral elements, precision-cut stone sculptures to resemble the snow-frosted alps and strong use of tranquil colours such as grey, white and silver.
For those who want to take their pampering to the next level, there are facial treatments to try. Unique to the store, guests can opt for an exclusive treatment of the White Caviar Illuminating & Firming Facial ($560) that aims to even the skin tone and illuminate the skin.

Making its official debut in Singapore, Britain’s beauty brand Elemis has opened its flagship store at Ion Orchard and a retail outlet at Raffles City.
Staying true to its British heritage, each store is designed with Georgian sensibilities in mind – cue the millwork, arched bays and floor tiles reminiscent of grand London townhouses and chic members clubs. Other quintessential British touches are the Phone Box that stores Elemis’s international bestsellers and an interactive salon wall that tells the brand’s story, reminiscent of what one may find in the Sloane museum.
On top of this, each boutique will also extend complimentary medical-grade HD Skin Consultation services to customers who’d wish to track their skin wellness journey.
Gender-bending New York fashion label Thom Browne has brought its first flagship to Singapore at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands which will carry the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories, footwear and eyewear.
Designed by architect Flavio Albanese of Milan-based ASA studio, the retail space is envisioned as a mid-century style office concept, complete with fluorescent lighting, to complement its interior of Banker grey Bardiglio and terrazzo marble walls and floors. Adding to the sleek aesthetic is furniture by designers like Dunbar by Edward Wormley, Paul McCobb and Maison Jansen.
Designed by architect Smiljan Radic and conceptualised by creative director Sarah Burton, the British label’s Ion Orchard store interprets earthy materials like wood, oak, and walnut alongside the interplay of light and dark elements. Discover the McQueen universe upon your visit as you view the uncompromising tailoring and dreamy designs of the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections.

Consider the brand’s second Singapore outpost a temple for the quintessential Virgil Abloh fan.
If its other boutique at Paragon is an absolutely pink visual treat (right down to its marble floors), this 2,034 square feet store goes for a stark minimalist route with its predominantly grey palette and design accents in resin, powdered plaster finishes, recycled plastic, and texturised glass – juxtaposed with a dash of tranquil greenery.
In-store offerings include both menswear and womenswear lines as well the introduction of its newest “Out of Office” sneakers which boast Abloh’s ’80s-inspired take on the tennis shoe.

The French jewellery maison which gave us iconic designs like the Quatre, the Serpent Boheme collection and the Question Mark necklace has just opened its newly refurbished boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
Mirroring the aesthetic of the house’s Parisian boutique, the Singapore outpost boasts a familiar neoclassical architectural design and a private VIP room for personalised one-on-one experiences with customers.
Opened in October last year, this inviting space is the second outlet for the Singapore label which is best known for its pleated garments that celebrate the homegrown brand’s Mediterranean roots.
The concept store allows customers to discover the “Ginlee Make” experience which eradicates the mass, ready-made process observed in the fast fashion industry by allowing customers to customize their own accessories like bags and cushion cover upon their visit. This includes having the choice to select the designs and colours they would prefer, followed by a chance to watch the pleating craftsmanship and steaming done in front of them.
The store also extends its sustainability efforts with the Get-Order-On-Demand (GOOD) scheme that rewards shoppers with a 15 per cent discount if they are able to wait three to five weeks for their orders to arrive.
