Of the many brands and collaborations that Raf Simons has dipped his fingers in, an underrated but longstanding one would be his work with Fred Perry. In fact, the Belgian designer has been distilling his vision of a street-infused youth culture for the past decade with the British heritage brand that sees items like chavvy bombers, narrow-cut polo shirts and a keen sense of colour become part of the cool, casual uniform.
To mark that collaboration, Raf Simons and Fred Perry have reissued 100 designs from the archives which will be dropped in various cities where subcultures are booming. After its first release in Athens, Belgrade, and Seoul, the collection will debut in Singapore at Club21 Forum on Sep 14. And if the items seem warped in clear vacuum-sealed packs, that’s all part of the appeal — and exactly how young photographers Olya Oleinic and Kyle Weeks lensed them for the ad blitz.
Prices range from $230 for T-shirts to $430 for knitted polo shirts.
