Besides being the reigning poster boy for hard-edged fashion, is Anthony Vaccarello shaping up to be a great bag designer? By the number of desirable bags the man has pushed out to date, the answer is a resounding, yes. The latest addition to his Pre-fall debuts is a bag dubbed the Book Bag that will be retailing exclusively on www.ysl.com from next week.
Contrary to what the name suggests, the bag is neither a backpack nor a satchel – cause you know, the school theme. Rather, it’s a streamlined shoulder bag style that resembles a book when you flip it on its side, making it perfect for days when you want to carry a subtle looking bag.
There are three different styles to choose from – a black leather, mocha-coloured leather and a racy ocelot-printed leather one – so you’d be sure to find one that suits your look. The other thing that makes this bag desirable? The iconic YSL logo hardware created by graphic designer Cassandre from 1961.
