Just because we’re out of quarantine does not mean we’ve stopped building our fashion podcast playlist that mushroomed during the circuit breaker. In fact, they’ve gotten bigger to accompany our daily commute.

And if you’re done digging into the over 100 episodes on Dressed: The History of Fashion, or need a break from Pop Fashion, may we suggest Salvatore Ferragamo’s recently launched podcast series, which is available on Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple iTunes.

Titled Shoemaker of Dreams, the series is an audio retelling of the Italian maestro’s 1957 memoir of the same name which he dictated in the late 1950s and had transcribed into a book.

In it, the former cobbler from the south of Italy charted his prodigious journey from humble beginnings to dressing the feet of the rich and famous and finding fame in Tinseltown, before returning to his homeland to establish his brand in Florence.

Like Ferragamo’s own influential circle of friends back then, the 22-parter features a stellar cast of narrators that include actresses Jessica Alba and Isabella Rossellini, as well as industry heavyweights like fashion journalist Suzy Menkes and costume designer Sandy Powell.

Take a listen and you might just be inspired. It certainly did for Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino who was so moved after reading the autobiography that he contacted the Ferragamo family to create a feature-length documentary that premiered at the recent Venice International Film Festival.
