Ghesquiere’s two most recognisable – and best-selling – bags for the house of Vuitton are set to become hotter, thanks to this season’s holiday-mood-inducing print: a blue wavy scrawl inspired by Palm Spring’s swimming pools. In epi leather.

Drawing from the Steamer – one of the brand’s oldest and most famous bags, originally meant for storing laundry – Ghesquiere debuts a tote that the modern nine-to-fiver would dig: clean lines, detachable shoulder strap, a padlock and ID tag for a touch of old-world travel, and roomy enough to double as a weekender. They’re inspired by bandages, but look more like elegant knuckledusters – sold and meant to be worn in a set of three, and sheathed in Monogram, embossed leather or studded leather (they look seriously badass). 

In white, they’re like a street version of Princess Leia’s kicks. In brown and with a platform, they’re rebel combat chic. Both make some of the season’s most editorial-worthy shoes – expect to see them on K-pop types as much as edgy dressers.

For architecture fiends: a piece of jewellery modelled after the Joshua Tree House by Kendrick Bangs Kellogg, known for his innovative, organic buildings. To mimic the residence’s sci-fi-looking, scale-like shell, palladium-finished metal is first lacquered for a matte effect, before being sprayed ombre. Every piece is then assembled together by hand.
