What To Get From Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2023 Collection

Creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere said go big or go home in every way possible.

by Khong Yawen  /   March 22, 2023

Zoom in on the details.

Nicolas Ghesquiere focused on playing with proportions in his Spring/Summer 2023 outing for Louis Vuitton. That approach extended to show set which featured a massive flower-shaped dome in the Cour Carree courtyard of the Louvre Palace, designed by contemporary French artist and friend of Ghesquiere, Philippe Parreno.

The zipper is one of the key elements of the Spring/Summer 2023 collection at Louis Vuitton

On the runway, it was all about supersizing details one would often overlook; dramatising proportions and silhouettes. Puffed up collars, leather suits with an 3D belt graphic and huge belt buckles were reoccurring motifs in the show. Meanwhile, dainty chiffon dresses were dotted with pearls, sequins or feathers and paired with knee-high chunky boots. Ghesquiere also presented a selection of accessories like a house-shaped bag and crossbody bag mimicking a nametag that were also dramatically resized.

Below, a list of buys to add to your cart from the collection, which is now out in stores.
