THANK U, NEXT

They say only true queens wear tiaras. And Ariana Grande too. Because some may argue is a queen in her own right. But we digress. For Fall, Givenchy has released the pearl-encrusted headband that was first seen at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 couture show, and then again in the Fall/Winter 2019 #Arivenchy campaign which starred the pop diva. The statement piece, which is made of large resin pearls and studded with Swarovski crystals, is now available at Givenchy’s Paragon store for $900.

HEARTFELT MESSAGE

We all know Monsieur Christian Dior as a superstitious man who imbued his work with plenty of symbolism. But he was also a romantic and considered the heart as one of lucky charms and that red – the colour of love – is “the colour of life”. Move over to this season and Maria Grazia Chiuri has turned that passion for all things red and hearts into a new line of pretty ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, scarves and costume jewellery called Dioramour. Expect designs like a mini Saddle bag in red shiny crinkled lambskin with leather flowers appliques ($4,900) or a cotton T-shirt printed with the J’ and heart icon ($ 1,150) motif. Stay still our beating hearts.

AMERICAN HUSTLE

The Tommy collaboration with American actress and red carpet star Zendaya that premiered at New York Fashion Week on Sept 8 did not end with just ready-to-wear designs. It also includes an eyewear collection which has now dropped in stores. Like the ’70s glamour that grounded the runway looks, the four-piece strong sunglass collection is a throwback to the oversized glasses worn by the likes of Cher and Jane Fonda. The round-shaped tinted sunnies ($255) – dubbed ThezendayaIII – come in designs like a clear acetate frame or black acetate frames embellished with silk inlays and gold-coloured Tommy Hilfiger logo on the temples.

SCHOOL OF THOUGHT

The debut Archive Editions by Cos proves that architectural designs lie at the heart of the label. The collection which launches in Oct, mined the brand’s archives from the past 12 years and comprises 13 designs for womenswear and menswear that were specifically inspired by the Bauhaus school. The archival collection, which coincides with the centennial anniversary of the German-born design movement, is also intended to showcase Cos’ modern and thoughtful design ethos. What all that mean are reissued pieces which go big on geometric forms and silhouettes for a series that include shirts, a coat and skirt in a stark monochromatic palette.

STAR SEARCH

Millennials might be obsessing over the Co-Star astrology app. For Hermes, it turns the romance and appeal of the stars into one stunning timepiece. The brand’s iconic Arceau watch has debuted a limited edition model that features an abstract dial based on a 2012 scarf design called the Astrologie Nouvelle. To recreate the print, artisans turned relied on the meticulous art of wood marquetry. A type of wood called tulipwood was picked for the design thanks to its fine and firm grain. Only eight pieces of the 41mm timepiece have been produced worldwide, with just one piece being carried by Hermes here this month. You can be a Capricorn and make sure to be on the waitlist.
