Shopping In Singapore: Fiorucci And Adidas Originals Pool-Ready Outing, Ong Shunmugam Launches A New Label & Anti-Normcore Sandals

Adidas Originals and iconic fashion house Fiorucci have unveiled a second tie-up. The collection ($90-$240) will drop at the brand’s Pacific Plaza store and online on May 10. The pool party-ready collection comprises classic Adidas Originals staples like the slides, track shorts and sneakers adorned with flashy Fiorucci graphics from the latter’s ’80s archives that were once spread across T-shirts, magazines, and posters. Think Dua Lipa‘s New Rules video meets ’80s Madonna.

The folks there have given its iconic linen-cotton canvas more durability but adding an extra coating and water-repellent protector so that the bag can be cleaned with a damp cloth but still retains a soft, natural and powdery finish. If you know Ong Shunmugam for its Oriental-influenced designs and Asian fabrics, then the brand’s newly launched diffusion label Om is a chicer everyday affair. The 23-piece debut ($149-$399) consists of updated essentials such as a circular shaped shirt with pleating details along the front yoke (middle), kimono jackets and skirt-pants hybrids. The fabrics are mostly made of synthetic blends (read: it doesn’t crease so easily), high spandex count for fitted items and breathability. In short, these pieces are primed for a real woman’s wardrobe.
Dr. Woo’s one person Hollywood’s biggest stars like Drake and Miley Cyrus go to when they need a fix – not for Botox – but for the coolest tattoos. The L.A. native whose real name is Brian Woo is now channelling his craft for fine and delicate ink drawings as embroidery on a capsule collection with Sacai. These tattoo-like embellishments appear on a series of items ($550-$2,100) like T-shirts, sweatshirts and souvenier jackets and will drop at Dover Street Market Singapore from May 18.

When a Spanish heritage footwear house best known for its elegant designs takes on ’90s sports sandals like Tevas, you know it won’t be your regular normcore outing. For the global pre-launch of the Love sandals from Fall/Winter 2019, the 93-year-old brand Pedro Garcia beautifully turns up a pair of suede sandals that’s more daytime glamour than hiking gear. Available in black or silver ($680) at On Pedder, the kicks feature comfortable and contoured flatforms and slim silk satin straps that are double stitched and paved Swarovski crystals.
