Animal prints have really come (back) to the fore of the Fall/Winter ’18 and Spring/Summer ’19 seasons, with the leopard’s spots being the most prolific. But one more contender that has snaked its way into our hearts (and the Instagram universe): well, the snakeskin print. Like its other counterparts, these prints — or rather, exotic skins — were once thought of as a status symbol due to their rare and luxurious provenance, but the modern-day perspective has opened the doors to a cornucopia of iterations.
Cue the most obvious (and our favourite) neon-hued snakeskin print at Off-White, the sheer styling magic and print-clashing over at Kenzo, and the footloose and fancy free approach at Gucci where men wore broken suits and women, achingly pared-back versions of the glam evening dress. All doused in healthy doses of the print in question, of course.
Now over on Instagram (in the gallery above), style stars are echoing the contemporary take: peep Danielle Bernstein’s (@weworewhat) tracksuit; an outfit in techwear spirit; and denim to anchor the cazh cachet of it all.
