While there are literally hundreds of designers to pick pieces from, the fashion industry and its hive mind usually zoom in on a few specific, must-have items that will keep making appearances – until the next season rolls around. Here, we check out the hottest items that have popped up on many editors and personalities all throughout the Spring 2018 shows:
From Instagram fashion head Eva Chen to Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine, Chanel’s souped-up ’60s go-go boots have been a sparkly hit with industry insiders – and it’s easy to see why. According to the brand, these boots are covered with 540,000 specks of glitter – making them the ultimate accessory for the sci-fi trend.
Gucci has almost single-handedly brought the fanny pack and this iteration almost doubled up as a belt for many fashion week attendees. It allows you go hands-free and it’s a relatively “new” bag style – what’s not to love?
Industry folks are still obsessing over white shoes – except now they’ve ditched the clean white sneaker (thank god) in favour of blocky white boots that are just slightly ironic-on-purpose. Regular street style magnet Yasmin Sewell was seen in the same white boots almost entirely throughout fashion month.
Loewe’s Barcelona bag has been a hit with the fashion crowd since it was first introduced in 2015. The newest iteration is the most eye-catching yet in bright red polka dots reminiscent of Minnie Mouse.
Almost anything Balenciaga makes is generally guaranteed to be coveted (except maybe those Crocs-on-steroids for Spring 2018) – and this goes way before Demna Gvasalia took over at the house.
These fabric pumps however, were spotted on many editors – a sure sign that the fashion crowd’s obsessions with polka dots have yet to abate.
Celine’s whimsical leaf-shaped earrings add a light-hearted touch to any outfit.
Chloe always makes some of the most covetable bags (remember the Paddington back in like 2005?) and the house’s new It bag for Fall 2017 sure is a cute number. It’s already been seen on tons of It girls, such as Yoyo Cao, who went for a dark teal version, as seen here. My favourite colour though, is this rusty red one.
One of our picks for the best statement shoes of the season, this feathery Prada number simply what we need for some pep in our gait. Editors known for their exuberant styles such as Anna Dello Russo and Giovanna Battaglia have both been seen in these sandals – these Pradas do make for a good option for the year-end party season when you really want to stand out.
One of the hottest new labels of the moment, Halpern has very quickly caught the industry’s attention has his bright, in-your-face colours, signature OTT use of sequins and heavily ’70s inspired silhouette.
Giovanna Battaglia was one of the earliest to wear the label last year to the British Fashion Awards, Marion Cotillard wore it this May to Cannes Film Festival and many industry names like Susie Lau, Battaglia (again) and Anna Dello Russo wore pieces to fashion week.
