Our vision for What Singapore Wore was to be the reference point of the local style landscape, but perhaps more than that, we hope to inspire and grow a community that’s unafraid to express themselves through the clothes they wear.
Local fashion is a lot more colourful these days — style is no longer just the equivalent of the latest trends, or a loudhailer for status. But while Singapore still has ways to go in terms of individuality and expressiveness (especially when pitted against cities like New York, Paris and Tokyo), it’s never too early to celebrate those who have developed a taste for the atypical.
