The Female Collective’s Trishna Goklani (aka @trishnarawr), who’s currently studying fashion journalism at the London College of Fashion, took over Female‘s Snapchat for London Fashion Week. Here, see the highlights of her time at the shows:
“The show venue was at the Old Spitafields market, surrounded by dozens of stalls selling various items from craft to fashion. There even was a counter dubbed “Topshop Cafe” where we could grab a quick bite before the show began.”
“What I loved about the collection: How it was a #throwback to the ’80s with its prints, silhouettes and colours. I loved the fuchsia coats and shoes too – they were such a refreshing pop of colour.”
“The show had a gritty, industrial feel to it: It was situated at a warehouse with ushers decked in bright yellow vests to direct guests to their seats.”
“I LOVED the pajama silk stripes and the classic mulberry bag that (designer Johnny Coca) updated in an oversized version.”
“The Joseph S/S ’17 show really intrigued me in the way something as simple as a shirt could be deconstructed into so many different ways.”
“We were introduced to more sportswear-influenced pieces as the collection grew, with drawstrings and colours that gradually turned from muted hues of white and brown to red, yellow, blue… it was an explosion of colours, but in slow motion, and I enjoyed every minute thoroughly.”
“Some of the items that caught my eye from Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2017: Striped bomber jackets and billowy poet blouses…”
“… as well as this shearling leather jacket (right) that’s perfect for the cool London weather.”
