Uniqlo U, the Japanese retailer’s sub line that’s headed by Christophe Lemaire, is set to launch its F/W’19 collection in Singapore next month, September 27. It’s always a popular line, especially for those who run in creative circles, and in line with Uniqlo’s focus on utility, changes tend to be subtle but functional. For example, the women’s wide-leg pants now come with a gentle curve from the waist down to create a flattering yet forward-thinking silhouette. Uniqlo’s signature Block Tech technology (it’s reportedly waterproof, windproof and breathable) is now integrated into more designs, such as a men’s duffle coat.
In keeping with the season’s typically somber mood, the colour palette of this collection is decidedly muted, veering towards the usual autumnal tones – what feels freshest are the occasional sprinkles of apple green, tomato red and marigold hues. The full line-up will be available online as well as Uniqlo’s Orchard Central Global Flagship store in Singapore, though selected pieces will be stocked at all stores.
