It’s not just the clothes that were reflecting reality – the models were made up of all genders, subverting the convention of who clothes are made for and highlighting the new reality to embrace.
The idea of complexity is delivered through layering of seemingly ordinary cotton shirts in different hues; pockets become the embodiment of utility and appear on jackets and as waist pouches. Classic Miu Miu pieces like leather jackets and coats appear evidently distressed. Shoes come with cut-outs and skirts with sequin embroidery in a bid to push the boundaries between decoration and function.
