WHAT: For the first time, American cult watch brand Alabaster Industries will be retailing its highly sought-after limited-edition designs in stores outside of its home base of the United States at Dover Street Market outposts around the world.
The brand is best known among hype fans and watch collectors for customising luxury Swiss watches with its signature molten metal cases and bracelets that come with a primordial edge (cue claws gripping the bezel) that some may say co-opts the heavy metal iconography.
However, it also has built a following for its own original line of automatic timepieces which feature eye-catching handcrafted dials that the brand describes as being “inspired by vexillology, symbols of membership, and criminal mischief”.
Thirty models from the brand’s latest collection will be retailing across five Dover Street Market stores in New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Ginza and London. Each store will carry only six models.
WHEN: The six one-of-a-kind designs will retail at Dover Street Market Singapore from April 28.
WHY BOTHER: Besides the fact that Alabaster Industries’ watches are highly-sought after – be it on its website and on resale hubs like Grailed –and quickly sold out?
Owning a watch from them also means that you always get unique timepiece as only one piece is produced per design. Essentially, what you walk home with is a bespoke mechanical timepiece with a very competitive price tag (it ranges between $2,330 and $2,620).
Ahead, we showcase the timepieces up for grabs in Singapore right now.
