Pursuing what they love is exactly why these five Gen Z female entrepreneurs are thriving on the Gram. Each of these Singapore-based individuals has a unique aesthetic, which is reflected in their statement designs. Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind soft toy bag (who can say no to Hello Kitty?) or a goth-inspired necklace that Wednesday Addams would wear, drop these girls a DM with a brief and they’ll work their magic to create a custom work of art for you.

STITCHCR4FT

With a formal degree in fashion design, 24-year-old Jaina Koo of @stitchcr4ft decided to create bags as they are something that could be worn every day and brought everywhere. Originally sewing conventional bags from fabric, the designs evolved into soft toy bags as they were more distinctive and fun to create. She even learned 3D design to incorporate resin-printed embellishments to allow more personalisation for her customers. “Resin products were meant to accessorise my bags initially, but after listening to feedback, I decided to sell them on their own, and that’s how resin-printed key chains became a popular Stitchcraft product,” says Koo. Prices range from $25 to $200.

Founded in 2020, the whimsically-named Socksinmymouth aims to bring unique pieces to people of all genders to promote self-expression and creativity. “I’m very much inspired by Y2K styles and themes of nostalgia. I also love the Japanese Harajuku style and I try to incorporate its funkiness and playfulness into my work,” said founder Valerie Tan. Some of her peculiar and wacky designs incorporate upcycled materials such as toys or beads from thrifted or second-hand necklaces, this ensures that no two pieces are the same. Prices range from $15 to $100.

HEARTXBREAKANNIVERSARY

Creating jewellery started out as a holiday hobby which soon evolved into one of Chloe Ng’s favourite things to do, hence she decided to launch her business in Dec 2021. “Heartxbreakanniversary was born out of my love for love itself, and my desire to create art inspired by all things romantic. We are for the lovers of love, romance, and glamour,” she said. The 18-year-old is inspired by gothic and grunge aesthetics, biblically accurate angels, and the colour red. A deeply personal creative process, the complex pieces are a result of her working through experimental trial and error until she’s satisfied. Prices range from $15 to $333.
