Makers’ Market

Homegrown woodwork outfit Roger & Sons is back with the second edition of its well-received Design Pasar – a market that spotlights Singapore’s growing community of artisans and craftsmen. This time, there will be workshops that teach you various things such as making your own organic face mask and chocolate tasting. Of course, there will also be food and grub on hand from various cafes in the Jalan Besar area, such as tea specialist Antea.Social. Details here.

Pure Ever

A new independent art show, Pure Ever focuses on giving a space to emerging creatives and artists a space to showcase their works. And it’s a great line-up, featuring young practitioners across varying fields such as fashion, fine Arts, design, photography, writing, video and more. If you want to get a snapshot of Singapore’s newest artists and creatives, this is a great place to begin – we like that it’s not a typical group art show where only artists are invited to take part. Details here.

On now till Oct 27, 11am – 6.30pm

Y2Arts, 211 Henderson Road, #01-01A

Jaden Smith presented by Collective Minds x Zouk

Jaden Smith is rolling into town to perform here for the first time – whether you find him overrated or not, here’s your chance to decide in person. He’ll most likely be performing tracks from his recent second album, Erys. Get your tickets here.

Oct 24, 9pm – 1am

Zouk, 3C River Valley Road

Alien: 40th Anniversary (PG)

If you’re not a Halloween person, here’s the next best alternative: a special screening of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi nightmare piece Alien (1979). If his latest works have been a tad overwrought (hello Alien: Covenant), the slow but menacing burn of Alien will remind you why this series became such a genre classic in the first place. And also, we’ll take Sigourney Weaver anytime. Details here.

Oct 26, 8.30pm

The Projector, #05-00 Golden Mile Tower
