From its tropicana-infused summer capsule to the launch of two exquisitely illustrated travel books on Paris and South Africa, it’s clear that the French maison’s illustrious history as a travel goods maker is hardly a thing of the past. And the Asian debut of the Objet Nomades exhibition, which first travelled to Milan and Brazil, aims to celebrate this savoir faire craftsmanship the brand has upheld since its inception in 1854.
Working in partnership with 10 established and emerging designers, the exhibition offers refreshing interpretations of travel by turning 17 everyday items – think stools, hammocks, beach chairs and foldable beds – into fancy furnishings to be admired from every angle. If you’re a die-hard interior design buff with cash to spare, you can even take them home (all of them are for sale).
Get a peek at what’s on display in our gallery below, and head down to view them in person at Level 3 of Louis Vuitton’s Island Maison store (#B1-38/39 & #B2-36/37/37A Crystal Pavilion North, Marina Bay Sands) from now till June 30, 2016.
