7 Things You Might Not Know About Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands is renowned for its iconic infinity pool, the Skypark, and the plethora of food options available. But what you might not realise is that it also offers shopping perks, blissful spa treatments and complimentary parking. Here’s what you need to know before your next trip down.

#1: You can reserve shopping items online.
If you’ve ever missed out on purchasing an item because you just didn’t have time to run out and get it, you’ll appreciate the Click and Collect service. It allows you to browse and reserve limited edition buys that are exclusive to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, and you’ll have 48 hours to head down and purchase it. #2: It's a haven for watch and jewellery fiends.
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands offers the region’s largest collection of luxury watch and jewellery brands under one roof. Plus, there’s an upcoming exhibition – the Art and Science of Gems by French jewellery and watch brand Van Cleef & Arpels – to check out at the ArtScience museum too. Running from April 23 to August 14, grab the chance to marvel at some of the rarest minerals and over 400 stunning jewellery pieces for a small fee of $10 (for adult Singapore residents). #3: Enjoy 50 per cent off drinks every Tuesday.
Participating restaurants and bars are offering signature cocktails with prices slashed by half between 6pm and 9pm every Tuesday. Ones to try: the Singapore Sling at Osteria Mozza; Troublemaker (a concoction of gin, sweet vermouth, lemon, cucumber and strawberries) at Adrift Bar & Lounge; and the Samurai Mule (a mix of sake, lime juice and ginger beer) at Waku Ghin. See the full list of cocktails here. #4: It's home to an award-winning spa.
The Banyan Tree Spa Marina Bay Sands, located on the 55th floor, offers panoramic views of the city. Inside the 140,533 sq ft-wide spa, you’ll find a calming retreat decked out in earthy tones. For a truly indulgent time, try the Harmony Banyan treatment ($650). With this 150-minute treatment, you’ll get not one but two therapists working to release tension in your muscles. Or opt for the Orchid Brightener, an exfoliation treatment inspired by Singapore’s national flower. Also part of the treatment is an orchid-infused bath for added relaxation.   #5: It's a haven for celebrity chef-led restaurants.
The dining scene in Singapore has undoubtedly become more vibrant with a stellar cast of 10 celebrity chef restaurants here, opened by the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Tetsuya Wakuda and Daniel Boulud. Another renowned chef, Wolfgang Puck, boasts two restaurants in the complex – the Cut steakhouse and the newly-opened Spago for quintessentially Californian offerings. #6: If you're looking for designer clothing for children, this is the place to be.
It’s home to the first and only Baby Dior, Fendi Kids and Dolce & Gabbana Junior stores in Southeast Asia. #7: Free parking is available (yes, really).
Get six-hours of parking free with a minimum spend of $50 at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum or the Museum Shop. Redemptions must be made before 5pm on the date of the relevant receipt.   Like this? Kick back and unwind at the top 10 best bars in Asia.
