Neon Lights Festival returns for its second edition to the lush grounds of Fort Canning this weekend, presenting a massive roster of 150 renowned local and international acts across six stages. English indie band Foals – once feted by Burberry’s creative boss-man, Christopher Bailey – headlines the first day, with Icelandic’s post-rock luminaries Sigur Ros the highlight of the second.
These bands aren’t the only ones to lose your shirts to. Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for these international acts: the indie-cool Blood Orange, dread-locked funk legend George Clinton and his band Parliament, and the boy-girl duos of Crystal Castles (techno) and Chairlift (kooky pop).
Keeping the local flag flying proud are indie-R&B singer Gentle Bones, rock band Cashew Chemists, electronic pop outfit Disco Hue, singer-songwriter Linying, and ambient electronica twosome .gif.
If the music’s not enough to move the jaded scenesters among you, the festival’s got a full-on shebang of arts events too. Keeping the festival buzzy are spoken word performances, street culture activities and visual and performance works. Plus a first: “Silent Disco”, where people get to don wireless headsets and listen to a live stream of the performing artistes. Consider our minds blown. From $120, buy tickets here or at any SingPost outlet
