Since it debuted last November, the farmers’ market by Open Farm Community has become a regular fixture in the Dempsey Hill enclave. For the seventh edition, which runs Dec 3-4 from 11am to 5pm, the focus – obviously – is on all things Christmassy.
Food vendors like handcrafted gelato shop Popbar will be dishing out mint or vanilla-flavoured popsicles with red and green chocolate dipping or gingersnap toppings, while local artisanal confectionery Carpenter & King will offer desserts that taste just like candy cane.
Homegrown beauty brands like Hush Candle are also getting in on the festive spirit – they’ve created a new scented candle, peppermint orange, which gives off subtle whiffs of candy cane and freshly baked fruit cake. In short: It sounds like the perfect place to kickstart your Christmas shopping.
