Andrei Soen of The Cajun Kings and Ming Tan of Lolla have joined resources to create Park Bench Deli – the sandwich joint of your dreams.
What: Previously limited to pop-up events, Park Bench Deli is now a fully fledged sandwich joint – and what we’ve been waiting for since it introduced its mouth-watering sandwiches last year.
Who: The chefs behind it are culinary bigwigs are Andrei Soen of The Cajun Kings (left) and Ming Tan of Lolla (right), and the reviews have been nothing short of excellent. Ingredients range from short ribs and brisket smoked for 48 hours in a handmade smoker, to pork belly cooked for three days till it is fork tender.
Why: Where else in Singapore serves up fat, juicy and affordable ($11-$15) sandwiches (the kind you crave after a long day at work)? Our top two are the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and Double Play sandwich stuffed with smoked short rib pastrami, corned beef brisket, bread and butter pickles, and pimento cheese.
Where: 179 Telok Ayer Street. www.parkbenchdeli.com
