This is a good year for music fans in Singapore – English singer-songwriter Sam Smith has just announced his debut performance in Singapore, which is sure to sell like hotcakes. Meanwhile, several big pop stars, as well as well-loved bands, will also be staging concerts here. We’ve rounded up the ones we’re most excited to watch:

#1: Beach Fossils (11 and 12 March)

The indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York will be returning to Singapore for the second time, the first being their debut performance here in 2012. Known for their lo-fi and atmospheric sound, the trio is touring in support of their third studio album, Somersault, which was finally released last June after four years in the making. The album has been praised as a leap for the band, with more nuanced and advanced lyrics and composition. Look out for the first single and lead track “First Year”, as well as standout songs such as “Be Nothing” and “Saint Ivy”. The band will be supported by local dream-pop act Subsonic Eye. While tickets for 12 March are already sold out, tickets for 11 March are selling fast.

$50 per ticket. 7.30pm, EBX Live Space. Visit www.ticketbox.sg for more information.

#2: Fifth Harmony (14 March)

This American pop girl group shot to fame after placing third in the second season of The X Factor in 2012. While Camila Cabello has since left the group in December 2016 – and forged a massively successful solo career – the now four-member band is still going strong, releasing their self-titled third studio album last year. Dance to infectious tunes such as “Angel”, “Down” and “He Like That” from the new LP, as well as their massively big hit “Work From Home”. This performance marks the second concert for the band, after their first appearance here in April 2017, which was part of their long-running 7/27 world tour.

$138 per ticket ($128 per ticket for a bundle of 3). 8pm, Zepp@BigBox. Visit www.sistic.com.sg for more information.

#3: LANY (29 March)

The indie pop band is making a very quick and very welcome return to Singapore, after their sold-out concert at *SCAPE’s The Ground Theatre just last August. This time, the trio is playing at the beautiful Capitol Theatre, which presents a fitting backdrop to the dream pop cum R&B spirit of the Los Angeles-based band. Some of the band’s most well-known singles include “Good Girls”, “ILYSB” and “Super Far”. Unfortunately, this gig is also sold-out, so if you did not get your hands on some tickets – lesson learnt, and be faster next time.

$88 per ticket. 8pm, Capitol Theatre. Visit www.apactix.com for more information.

#4: Zedd (7 April)

Ready for a night of hard-core partying? Then definitely don’t miss EDM wunderkind Zedd’s performance here come April. The concert will be part of the German-Russian record producer’s Asia Club Tour 2018, which will also take him to China, Malaysia and Indonesia. The 28-year-old is known for his massive hits such as Grammy winner “Clarity” and the Grammy-nominated track “Stay”. Also dance the night away to his newest single, “The Middle”, as well as a slew of feel-good tracks such as “I Want You To Know” and “Stay The Night”. While pre-sale tickets are sold-out, tickets will still be available at the door – just turn up early!

The American pop diva will be back in Singapore as part of her Witness tour, in support of her fifth studio album of the same name. Perry was last here in 2015, as part of her expansive Prismatic World Tour for her fourth studio album, Prism (2013). Our bodies are ready to party to all the big hits from Witness (2017), which includes collaborations with prominent names such as Nicki Minaj and Migos. Tracks we are most looking forward to: “Chained To The Rhythm”, “Swish Swish”, “Bon Appetit” and “Hey Hey Hey”.

$128 – $348 per ticket. 8pm, Singapore Indoor Stadium. Visit www.sportshub.com.sg for more information.

#6: Fall Out Boy (30 April)

Oh boy (get the pun?), we can’t wait for this one. The long-standing American rock band – they’ve been around since 2001, that’s 17 years, mind you – will be back in sunny Singapore after five years, with their last performance in 2013 at Fort Canning Park as part of their Save Rock & Roll tour. This time, the quartet will be touring as part of their M A N I A tour, supporting their seventh studio album of the same name. While they will definitely be playing their new singles such as “Young and Menace” and “Champion”, what we really hope they’ll play are the classics such as “Sugar, We’re Goin Down”, “Dance Dance” and “Thnks fr th Mmrs”.

$148 per ticket, $10 discount for minimum group booking of 3 tickets. 8pm, Zepp@BigBox. Visit www.sistic.com.sg for more information.

#7: Harry Styles (3 May)

The former member of One Direction has been carving a fairly successful solo career for himself, with the release of his self-titled debut album just last May. The 24-year-old has even nabbed himself a Brit Award, for the music video of the lead single “Sign of the Times”. The English singer, songwriter and actor was actually here just last November, but that gig at The Star Theatre sold out so fast that he promised to add a show this year – at the way bigger Singapore Indoor Stadium, no less. If the previous concert was anything to go by, expect an energetic and impressive performance from Styles as well as his live band.

$98 – $888 per ticket. 8pm, Singapore Indoor Stadium. Visit www.sportshub.com.sg for more information.

#8: Dua Lipa (4 May)

We are doubly happy that the breakout pop princess will be playing a full concert for the first time in Singapore, given that she was also our July 2017 cover girl. She was here for a small, intimate showcase last year, but this time, she’s doing a full headlining show. The 22-year-old just won big at the recent Brit Awards, taking home the British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act awards. Meanwhile, her mega-hit “New Rules” is still ruling the airwaves with over a billion views on YouTube. Unfortunately, if you have not snagged a ticket, you’re out of luck – the show is completely sold-out, and there are scalpers now selling tickets for more than $1,000.

$88 – $168 per ticket. 8pm, Esplanade Theatre. Visit www.apactix.com for more information.

#9: Bruno Mars (6 and 7 May)

The reigning King of Pop will be back in Singapore for a second time this May, as part of his 24K Magic world tour in support of his latest acclaimed album of the same name. The American singer-songwriter just swept the recent Grammy Awards, winning a whopping and historic six awards, including some of the biggest ones such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year (for “24K Magic”) and Song of the Year (for “That’s What I Like”). So, it’s not surprising that tickets for both nights are already sold out within hours of going on sale.

$168 – $348 per ticket. 7pm (6 May) / 8pm (7 May), Singapore Indoor Stadium. Visit www.sportshub.com.sg for more information.

#10: Niall Horan (12 June)

Looks like One Direction fans have another reason to be ecstatic – if Harry is not enough, Niall will also be in Singapore come June for his first-ever solo concert in Singapore. The 24-year-old was previously here in July 2017 for a private showcase, and in 2015 with One Direction. This time, the Irish singer-songwriter is performing as part of his global tour to promote his debut solo album, Flicker, which was released last October. We can’t wait to hear the live rendition of the infectious single “Slow Hands”, which has already accumulated 130 million views on YouTube.

$88 – $488 per ticket. 8pm, The Star Theatre. Visit www.apactix.com for more information.

The English crooner and worldwide sensation just announced that he will hold his first-ever concert in Singapore later this year for one night only. The 26-year-old first burst onto the scene back in 2012, with the song “Latch” in collaboration with electronic duo Disclosure. Since then, the singer-songwriter has gone on to put out two studio albums – the latest being The Thrill of it All, released last year – as well as several chart-topping hits such as “Money on My Mind” and “Stay With Me”. While ticketing information has not been released yet, expect tickets to sell-out in record time, so get ready.
