Here's Why You Should Check Out Seletar Aerospace Park This Weekend

Singapore's latest hip enclave Seletar Aerospace Park is staging their first open-air carnival this Saturday. Here's what you need to know.

Haven’t had a chance to check out the gorgeous Seletar Aerospace Park? Well, they’ve got a whole slew of events lined up this Saturday that makes it the perfect time to get your butt down.

Entitled Oval The Rainbow (geddit?), it’s a whole smogarsbord of family (and pet) friendly events taking place this Saturday, 11 March from 2pm onwards till late – meaning whatever time you get up and out, there’ll be something going on.

#1: Catch a movie under the stars

Popular open-air event organiser Movie Mob is back – this time they’ll be screening Disney’s Up. With key anchor tenant The Summerhouse’s beautiful sprawling garden as a backdrop, this is as rustic as it’ll get. 7.30 – 9.30pm.

#2: Free flow of refreshments

Enjoy free popcorn and candy floss while milling about or catching Up. There’ll also be food from other restaurants like Wildseed (the cafe by day/bar by night occupying the first floor of the Summerhouse), Youngs Bar & Restaurant (offering European cuisine) and Wheeler’s Estate, the sister restaurant to the highly popular Wheeler’s Yard.

#3: There’ll be a dog adoption drive

Always wanted a pooch of your own? Why not consider adopting instead? SOSD Singapore and Noah’s Ark Cares will be holding a dog adoption drive from 3pm – 7pm. Yes the dogs are cute and you’ll be contributing to a worthy cause.

#4: Exercise and get rewarded for it

There’ll be a Bossaball public challenge from 2pm – 6pm – what is Bossaball you say? It’s apparently a team sport that originated in Spain that is a mash up of soccer, volleyball and gymnastics. Form a team of 5 – 7 people and receive a $5 dining voucher per person. For an example of how Bossaball looks like, check out the clip below:

Admission is free.
