Gucci featured a skater cruising through a mall to front its S/S ‘16 ad campaign, Dior Homme transformed its F/W ’16 runway into a skate park and Miu Miu even debuted a short film featuring a teen skater at the recent Venice Film Festival.
If you need more compelling reason to bring the boards out: American sneaker brand Vans is throwing a House of Vans Singapore event this Saturday, September 24 at the former Central Police Station (99 Beach Road) from 2pm till late.
Its aim: To celebrate 50 years of the brand’s heritage in action sports, art, music and street culture, including the thriving skating scene it’s helped to build up. Entry is free, and there are a slew of interactive events, such as DIY workshops, local designers showcase and a concert featuring all-talented Asian musicians, to check out throughout the day.
