Band merchandise has become part of our fashion vocabulary. Just turn to the Biebs’Purpose Tour collection, and various retailers’ ode to groups like AC/DC, Metallica, The Rolling Stones throughout the years. Even Kanye is on the trend, never mind that he got dissed by extreme metal band Cradle Filth for wearing one of its T-shirt.
We don’t foresee such drama to unfold with the latest Alice + Olivia band merch. After all, it features The Beatles, one of the most lovable and most #influential groups in music. Also, this gig marks the first time that the band has collaborated with a women’s fashion brand to roll out its merchandise.
The collection ($340 – $2,260) is out now at the brand’s Ion Orchard store and features a selection of brightly coloured and heavily embellished ready-to-wear and minaudieres that features slogans and symbols from some of The Beatles most iconic memorabilia.
For instance, the image of the Abbey Road album cover art is interpreted as Warhol-style prints on a shift dress. The band’s iconic song titles like “Come Together” to “Love Me Do”, meanwhile, get translated into feel-good slogans. Here we showcase some of the buys that get all our loving.
